"Aspen"
The leaves will soon be falling...
This one is still attached to the tree in the front yard.
(PS... Sept 16 was Colorado Sky. This blue background was created in Photoshop.)

Hello Pam,
I work in Photoshop quite a bit and I don't always remember what I did to create a shot. I believe I selected a light blue and a dark blue for background and foreground colors. I created a new layer beneath the leaf and used Filter>Render>Clouds. I then added a little bit of noise under Filter>Noise>Add Noise. I then used Filter>Distort>Glass, and then applied a Gaussian blur under Filter>Blur>Gasussian Blur. I created another new layer above the background and applied a medium gray to light gray gradient (dark in the upper left corner). I changed its layer blending mode to color burn and reduced its opacity. I was thinking about using the veins from theleaf to add to this blue background as a texture... check back in a few days to see if I could get it to work or not!!

Thank you for the kind comments! I really enjoy doing this "One Shot a Day" gallery. I try to create a quality shot each day, and sometimes that is difficult!
Take care,
JD Anderson

hey JD, I'd love to know how you created such a beautiful background in photoshop? What did the original look like? Your photo a day pictures are great. Very good quality.
