Bear Viewing and Fishing at Wolverine Creek, Alaska 8-15-24
Today we flew on Talon Air to Big River Lakes area, which is part of Redoubt Bay, just East of Lake Clark National Park. From there we went in a large outboard boat to Big River Lake, which has Wolverine Creek flowing into it. While Janet & I were primarily taking photos of bears, the rest of our group was fishing for salmon, and most of them got their limit of 3 fish. Note that all the bears we saw here were Alaskan Coastal Brown Bears. I came to this same location in 2004 and the only bear I saw that day was a large Black Bear. So, when I refer to bears in the captions, I am in all cases referring to Alaskan Coastal Brown Bears. Some look almost Black, but you can tell that they Grizzlies (in this case, Alaskan Coastal Brown Bears) because of the hump on their front shoulder.
