On Feb 22nd, 2023 a major snowstorm hit the Portland, Oregon area, with temperatures in the low to mid 20's. It came in much heavier that the forecasters had predicted. Also, since it started covering roads by 3 in the afternoon, it caused major havoc on the roadways. Many people had to abandon their cars and either walk home or find a hotel! The photos below are of our home and neighborhood in Happy Valley, Oregon, which is just SE of Portland. The first 7 photos are from 3:50 -7:00 PM. It continued snowing from around 3 PM in the afternoon of the 22nd, through sometime in the early morning of the 23rd. Notice how much more snow there is in the last 5 photos. Overall, Portland got around 11 inches, while we got just over 8 inches at our house. On that next morning, while still very cold out, it was clear, with lots of blowing snow.
