Virginia - Shenandoah National Park, September 2017
Skyline Drive is the primary road through this park and we took it from the North to the South end of the park. In fact, we continued for a while on the Blue Ridge Parkway, which seems to be just an extension of the park. We were too early for the main fall colors, but could find plenty of leaves that had already changed. Also rescued an Eastern Box Turtle that I saw in the middle of the road. I had Janet ready to stop any traffic that came while I ran back to where the turtle was and move it to the side of the road it was headed for. Because many people do like we did and basically just drive through the park, I have included photos from several overlooks, as well as shots through the front window showing what the road is like. It is a very pleasant drive!
