On the way to and from Utah to see Bryce Canyon, Kodachrome, Grosvenor Arch, Red Canyon, Capitol Reef, and Goblin Valley, we stayed a Jerome KOA in Idaho. It was a genuinely nice park with a definite plus. That being a Great Horned Owl! We were in site 8, and on our way to Utah, we could hear an owl or owls, but never saw one. However, on our way home, when we returned to this campground, we got the same site and while setting up the trailer, I did see a Great Horned Owl fly from a tree in site 7 into a tree in our site but could not then see it in the tree. The next morning while taking Maizy for a walk, I saw it in the large Pine tree in site 7. So, after putting Maizy back in our trailer, I went out to take some photos. At first it was still very dark out, so I tried a couple of shots using the built-in flash on my camera. The shots worked but the flash gave the owl bright red eyes! Then I started shooting without flash as it slowly got brighter out. In the last photos there was sun out that helped a lot!
