While officially closed due to the government shutdown, a non-profit group there was paying to keep it open. Unfortunately, just as we got there, they were closing it due to wind damage from the night before that also knocked out the power. Fortunately, we were allowed 10-15 minutes to take photos of the entry signs and a few trees right at the start of the trail.
