This was a short two night stay at the National Park Inn at Longmire in Mt. Rainier National Part. We arrived early afternoon on December 31st, and left the morning of January 2nd. Drove up to Paradise (with chains) the first day and hiked up above the parking area for better views of the mountain. On the way down we spotted a fox on the road and he hopped to the top of the snowbank next to the road and just sat there. He was obviously looking for handouts, which he did NOT get from us. I did take some photos of him and tried opening & closing my door or yelling at him to get away from the road, but he didn't budge! The next day we used snowshoes to go to Reflection Lakes area, knowing that the area would be frozen over, but again for good views of the mountain. It was about 4 miles round trip.
