This is a few days after some recent snow in the area. We first came in on Hwy 503 from the Woodland exit on I-5 to get views on the southern side of Mt. St. Helens. Our first destination was along Yale Reservoir by Cougar, Washington. There I have included a shot from 1981 of Janet, Kristina, Kevin and our dog, Star at Yale Reservoir. After that are our current photos from Yale Park, at the reservoir, with our dog Maizy. You can just see a small part of Mt. St, Helens from here. Then a few miles further up the road we got a really good view of the mountain/volcano. It wasn't too much further that the snow was getting deep and we decided to turn around after a partial shot of the mountain. After that we got one more shot from our previous location and then decided to go further North on I-5 and take Hwy 504 from Castle Rock all the way to the Johnston Ridge Observatory right next to the mountain (even though it is closed for the winter).
