The small lighthouse on the right was built in 1856, but then closed in 1858, both because trees were obscuring it and because of a political decision about it being built on the wrong island. Then in 1869, it was again put in use. Then in 1919 a lighthouse that was disassembled in Delaware was brought here. After sitting on the beach for almost 10 years it was finally reassembled in 1929. At 112 feet, it became the tallest lighthouse in Wisconsin.
