We have now reached the Visitor Center near the top of Trail Ridge Road, and from there, climbed Alpine Ridge Trail. It goes from the 11,796 feet at the Visitor Center, to 12,005 feet atop what is nicknamed "Huffers Hill". It is only 0.6 miles round trip, but the fact that it is all near 12,000 feet means the air is quite thin!
