We have been planning on seeing this Total Eclipse ever since the Annular Eclipse back in 2012. For this eclipse, we made reservations at Oregon Solarfest in Madras, Oregon about a year prior. Being on the East side of the Cascade Mountains gave it the best chance of having clear skies for the eclipse. As it turned out, we did have high thin clouds, but nowhere near enough to block the eclipse. It was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend to anyone who has still not seen a Total Eclipse that it should definitely be on your bucket list. Just seeing the partial eclipse is nowhere near enough! BTW: While photographing the receding moon, my battery ran out. I had another back in the trailer, but wanted to continue talking to those who had experienced the eclipse with us, so quit there.

Note: if you look at the exif data that can be displayed on each image, you will see that slower exposures show more of the white corona around the sun. Faster exposures show less corona, but more of the chromosphere and flares around the edge of the sun.
