This Clackamas County park is about 30 minutes from our house. Our neighbors told us about it so we decided to check it out, especially since our dog could go on the trails. This park obviously got a lot of damage during this winter's ice storm, but it was still enjoyable. We just did their easy loop C plus the extension to the B loop. Note that the signs in the park sometimes referr to upper and lower loops and other times to the letter names. The C loop had interpretive signs along the way and is very easy. The B extension takes you up higher and then reconnects back down to the C loop. It also appears to have less storm damage than the lower area. However, once you go up, and there are a couple of steep locations, there are very few signs and finding your way back down means checking out 30-50 feet at several junctions before you can decide which way to go. When you see some stairs cut into a trail on your left going down, that is the correct way. However, first go to the right for about 25 feet for a good view down to the creek! Overall, in spite of the damage and downed trees, it is a very beautiful and enjoyable park. We do want to go back in the Spring to see what it looks like then with more flowers blooming.
