After setting up our trailer at Cape Lookout State Park Campground, we headed to the southern end of Rockaway Beach. The first three photos are on the way to Rockaway Beach. Just as you enter the town from the south, there is a sign and turnout on the right. The sign just says Rockaway Beach, Founded 1943, and Enjoy the Tillamook Coast. The other side of the sign says, “Old Growth Cedar Trail”. If you park there, there is a boardwalk that is roughly 0.7 miles long, with a giant Western Red Cedar at the end of the trail. There were lots of Skunk Cabbage blooming along the trail when we were there. Also, some people on the trail told me about a 50-foot snag about 3/4ths of the way down the trail that had an Osprey nest on it. I only saw one Osprey that day, but I came back the next morning and saw more. The people who told me about the nest had mentioned that it was one male and two female Ospreys that were taking care of the nest.
