Maroon Bells and Independence Pass, Colorado 9-25 2024
This album is the last day of our 3-night trip to Colorado for aspen trees that are turning golden yellow and/or red. This gallery will cover Maroon Bells, just outside of Aspen, and then over Independence Pass. Maroon Bells was in fact the primary reason we went on this trip. We previously went there in September of 2016, and the aspen trees were great there, but clouds covered the mountains. Fortunately, this time we got a clear sunny day! Also, when we arrived in Aspen in the late afternoon, we decided to drive over to the place where we would catch the shuttle into Maroon Bells the next morning. While there, we realized that it was after 5 PM so we could drive right into Maroon Bells. So, the first four photos in the gallery are a little after 6 PM on 9-24-24
