This morning, we were out looking for Pumas! Along the way were a number of Guanacos I was able to get photos of. Then we got out of our vehicles and hiked over to an area that the tracker and guides led us to. There we found a Puma (Petaka) lying in the grass, with her eyes trained on a group of Guanacos in a small valley below us. While we were there, she did not seem to care about us. Our guides told us that she really does not get upset when photographers are there, as long as we maintain a sufficient distance. Eventually, she sat up, and then headed down to the area with the Guanacos. Fortunately, I was able to get a good number of photos of her. Then on our way back I was able to get photos of Guanacos, and a Guanaco skull (there were many bones in the area, so it was obviously a common place that Pumas catch Guanacos). Further along the way I got another photo of a Rhea, a couple of South American Fox photos, a Guanaco leaping over a fence, and then a photo of some nearby mountains late in the day.
