In A Cage

USS Albany

This ingenious device is two "Stokes" litters. After being placed in one litter another one is place upside down on top. You are thus in a cage. The cage was sometimes held over the side of the ship. We were moving at about 15 knots at the time and in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. A scary time to say the least.
