Yes, I still have my KD-510z. It works fine. Are you sure you bought the KD-510z and not another model? I have no problem with the cover scratching the metal by the lens on mine (but I have heard that the smaller KD-420z/G400 series cameras have this quirk, and this probably applies to the newer G530, etc.).
The case is holding up just fine on my KD-510z, even though I carry this camera with me everywhere in a pocket.

what camera have you now Jim please , i sold my minolta 600 bought a 510 like yours and sold that as the sliding cover was scratching the underneath metel by the lens , now thinking about the fuji F 10 but no finder , any ideas? and rgrds Rodney allways look at your posts on Steves Digicams .. ie taximan uk on the forums before ,
