Well-meaning people in the wrong jobs seems always to be at the base of every problematic issue that we have had for the past three years. This coming election should go far to put Board discord well behind us. I strongly urge all my fellow members to read the proposed bylaw amendments, etc., and then to consider the tones, groupings and the authors / signatories of Faction A and of Faction B. Come to your own conclusions.

It seems to me that some of these amendments are akin to putting parking regulations in the Constitution of the United States. Many such changes belong in our Standing Rules which are easily amended at Board meetings. I hold that Standing Rules type adjustments have no place in the Bylaws. I see many (not all) of these proposals as being just that.

Frankly, I don't see where most of this kind of minutia has a place in our club at all. I prefer my minutia on a detailed cue sheet while cranking through a forested bike trail up in Westchester County. Follow me to sanity.... and fun.

If reelected to my current post of Recording Secretary, it will be my pleasure to serve our Club for another year of what I hope has been the strong, (certainly loud) obfuscation-stifling voice of order, propriety, civility and positive focus on benefiting the Membership over all else, while never losing sight of what I enjoy the most: having great days out on the road cycling with my friends!

I point with pride to the many recommendations by my fellow candidates to return me to office. I heartily endorse every person who has endorsed me.... Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to serve you all. It has been a pleasure to do it.
