Monmouth is a Welsh border market town situated at the confluence of the Rivers Wye, Monnow and Trothy
The Severn Bridge opened in 1966 to replace the ferry. At this point the River Severn is almost one mile wide at high water.
It is actually two bridges. This is the smaller Wye Bridge and Viaduct.
