Covered in rough-hewn limestone, The National Museum of the American Indian, is the latest addition of the Smithsonian Institution. Located in Washington, D.C. between the Smithsonian’s National Air & Space Museum and the U.S. Capitol Building, this curvaceous structure is a striking addition to the National Mall. Designed to look like a natural rock outcrop which has been weathered by wind and rain, the irregular shape sits in stark contrast to the other buildings nearby.
