We had a closeup view of a Weaver Bird just outside a large window where we were staying while in Johannesburg. This bird built several of these nests, trying to create one that a potential mate would approve of. When a female would show up, she would inspect each one. When there was no indication that she approved, the disappointed builder would tear apart the nests and start over again.
