Over the 1st & 2nd July 2006, the SVR held a World War II weekend. The weekend involved displays of life around the railway during the second world war. Many people dressed in period costume and various displays were put on which included classic military and civilian vehicles, allied and axis encampments, a wartime wedding, life on the home front and so on.
