A Day Trip to Neu Schwanstein

A two hour drive north from Lindau, near Fussen, is the palace of King Ludwig II of Bavaria, often known as the "Mad King." The palace was named after the Swan Knight from Wagner's opera "Lohengrin." We all know that Walt Disney copied the palace's design for his theme parks. Ludwig's original, however, is more beautiful (inside and out) than one can describe. Its view of Lake Starnberg is breathtaking.
