Today, it had slight rain in the morning, was prepared for the worst, but cleared up before check-out, then we checked luggage at the train station, 3.80Euro/5 HR. For this day, we wanted to check out David the statue, but when we got there, they had a staff meeting and thus our plan was pushed back a couple of hours, and thus we went up the tower of Duomo to check out Florence from a high! Needless to say, it was another grinding workout to get to the top of the tower! Then from there we saw the marble statue of David, 16 feet of marble that was done to perfection! It was very impressive, the details, the musculature, the sheer size size of it, just the statuesque figure was impressive, but the details, such as the veins on the forearm. One man created it, not sure, but it might have taken Michaelangelo 2 years to complete it! I couldn't take any pictures inside, so I have no picture of Daivd. But it was indeed impressive. We walked the streets of Florence a bit more before our train ride at 4pm from Florence to Venice.
