From August 11-25 I got a chance to take a trip to Vietnam, Thailand and South Korea!

I really need to thank my friend V, because I was well taken care of for this trip because of his family! He had families there and they showed me around Saigon and showed me how the locals would have fun!!! Wow, I had a blast there, and I felt like an extended family member there. The whole tour consist of his family, always traveling in a group of 20+. It was so much fun, my favorite was still Saigon!!! Even though I didn't speak any Viet, the one day when it was just another friend and I, we both didn't speak any viet, we still had lots of fun just wandering the streets of Saigon.

I boarded the flight on August 10 Sunday noon, from LAX to Seoul, and that was a 13.5 hrs flight, a layover at Seoul for 1.5 hrs. Then from Seoul to Saigon, another 5 hrs. By the time I got to Saigon, it was August 11, 11PM at night!!! So by the way we got there, I traveled with V's aunt and her daughter, thankfully they were there with me, or else for sure I would be lost!!! And we were picked up by V's cousin! hehe.

For this trip I took my Canon Eos 40D, Tokina 12-24 and Tamron 28-75, and I would suffice to say that with these two lens, I was pretty equipped, but having the 70-300 would've been nice at times! hehe. For this traveling, I didn't take my backpack with me all the time, as it was too much work lugging the backpack around, so actually my first day in Saigon, I opted not to take my cam with me and so I'd have to say I enjoyed that day the most!!! I do love photography, but at times, you can't be in the moment and behind the lens and in action all at once! So I'd have to say for this trip I didn't take as many pics as I would like, but that was by choice! hehe. I really wanted to enjoy my vacation.

I did bring a notepad with me, but this time I opted to take my blackberry phone with me, and instead I used it as my journal, note taking during bus ride and such! Yeah I know, typing into a small blackberry as a journal seemed kind of inefficient, but I got really fast at typing. So that's what I opted to do, as I would access to it at anytime, and it had a small cam with it too, so at critical moments, I would use that as well, and I used my blackberry often as a MP3 player as well, so I'd have to say... this blackberry pearl served me well on this trip! It was just too bad I didn't know that I had to have it unlocked, in order to use a temporary sim card! But next time I know! hehe. =)
