June 13: Rusted truck-bed red

North Providence, RI

In the middle of the night someone managed to destroy my building's mailbox (using their car). The next day, in 99 degree heat, the boys in blue from the US Postal Service brought us a brand new one. I officially take back most of the jokes I've told about the post office.

I'll look for it by September, Jason. Ha. And Mike (The Third Side) just be grateful. You never got any of your bills late, did you?
Jason Anderson14-Jun-2008 22:29
The Third Side -- one of the benefits of living in a state roughly the size of a ping-pong table is that the mail always comes on time...or at least at the same time, maybe a few days after it was initially available for delivery...

1moremile -- I also sent you an official official letter of apology; it's in the mail.

Great crisp shot Jason and a fine story to go with it!

I would have thought it took them so long that the truck started getting rusted. Here too sometimes they surprise you with the quick turn around
The Third Side14-Jun-2008 13:47
Maybe they were destroyed by the mailman who fell asleep while delivering the mail 12 hours late?
The Third Side14-Jun-2008 13:46
Did someone 'go postal' on the mailboxes?
The Third Side14-Jun-2008 13:45
I totally agree, but it's amazing that it takes less time to get new mailboxes installed than it does to buy stamps.

"We deliver for you..." Hey, that's catchy.
1moremile14-Jun-2008 10:47
About time some apologies were made. We deliver for you!! Ha.
Mairéad14-Jun-2008 10:08
That was efficient. Great shot.

Nice and sharp

Sad story but great that it got fixed so quickly! Great shot.

99 degrees! I hope you gave the postal workers some iced teas and chained up the Beasties.

Haha, I want a couple of those jokes! .... this is an unofficial request :)

Happy to see that the post office provided you with mailboxes. They made us both pay for them and install them to their specifications.

Nice shot.
