The State of Rhode Island has determined that it's not really a good idea to touch this water, much less eat anything that swims in it. One can hope the cooler is for beer and not for carting dinner home. One can hope a lot of things.

Standing up in a canoe has never worked out well for me.

A friend of mine came from a coastal fishing family. He lost 5 relatives in one year, they all fell over the side of the boat, they were all wearing waders, none of them were wearing life jackets. Apparently in the village you are considered a "Sissy" if you wear a lifejacket. There are not many of them left now.

Well you say that they are on a pond with the name Canada in it so my guess is that the cooler is for beer just because Canada and beer seem to go hand in hand. I can say that just because I'm Canadian.

With water that polluted maybe the guy standing should put out that cigar. I'm not trying to rock the boat, I just don't want the whole fish house to up in flames.

I second Mathilda. Standing is NOT recommended. and sorry that the water is so polluted that you can not eat the fish.
