The Department of Environmental Management has been monitoring this pond for years; It isn't fit for swimming but that didn't stop fishermen until recently. This summer there was a fishkill.

The parking lot of my apartment building drops off to the pond, and over the years the retaining wall that held it back has failed. In order to stop runoff from the lot, the retaining wall is being replaced (more here: http://www.pbase.com/jason_daniel_anderson/struction )
