where the lightning hit

North Providence, RI

A few months ago during a nasty storm, a lightning bolt hit close -- and I mean close -- but I never could figure out where. Now that the leaves are thinning, the damage is visible in this tree not 50 feet from my living room window.

The telltale signs are the pale ribbons the current left behind, running along two branches. I knew it was close.

And as an added bonus for chempilot: please note the lichens :o) They're just the result of lichening.

This is cool. Could probably make a good camo pattern. Well, it does look like it to me.
