Blue LEDs are so cool...and now they're everywhere, including on my new backup drive. I'm sure back in the day HAL 9000's watchful red eye seemed far fetched, but how long now before our machines can see us, too?

I counted the LED's in my bedroom the other night. Laptop, smoke detector, DVD player, TV, NOAA emergency radio, motion detector....
