Regent Star

New York City

The Holland America liner Statendam was built in 1957 for the Transatlantic run, but converted to seasonal cruising in 1966. She was sold
to Paquet in 1982 and sailed as Rhapsody until 1986. She then became Regency Cruises' Regent Star until their messy bankruptcy in 1995 --
which left thousands of passengers stranded worldwide as their ships were seized by local authorities.

Purchased by Perosa Shipping and renamed Sea Harmony, she was laid up until the decision was made to scrap her in 2004.

Entered service: 1957 | 24,000 Gross Tons / 643 feet long

HP Scanjet 4850
