Sunward II

Miami, FL

This photo reminded me how close I was able to get to the ships in Miami back in the 1980s. It probably helped that I was in my
early teens, dragging my mother along behind me (some vacation), and didn't look like much of a threat. By 1992 access to the docks
was closed off and, not coincidentally, my Miami photos end just before that.

Norwegian Cruise Line bought Cunard's Adventurer in 1977 and renamed her Sunward II. In 1991 she was sold to Epirotiki (later Royal Olympic) and named Triton; in 2004 she was sold to Louis Hellenic Cruises and is currently named Coral.

Built 1971, became NCL's Sunward II in 1977 | 14,100 Gross Tons / 485 feet long
