So long, Holden Caulfield

North Providence, RI

It was J. D. Salinger's Holden Caufield in Catcher in the Rye who famously worried about where the Central Park ducks go when the pond is frozen. Every time I wonder how waterfowl keep warm I think about that. So long, Mr. Salinger. The ducks are back in the pond, at least for now.

John, I've spent more enjoyable hours smashing my thumb with a hammer. A couple hundred odd pages of young male angst with a surprise ending: there was no point to any of it. On top of that, it was too short.

Read the book a long time ago, did not think much of it, just another story.
Glad I am not a duck, life gets really tough sometimes.
