Sitting like an eggshell in the shadow of the North Tower, it's amazing the Winter Garden wasn't completely destroyed. The beautiful palm trees were dead, subzero winter wind fluttered into the atrium and the whole area was surrounded by high plywood construction fence, but someone hung the Christmas wreaths as usual.
