Lifeboats and a promenade deck on Song of Norway.
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, RCCL for short, began life in 1970 with the 18,000 ton Song of Norway (enlarged to 24,000 tons in 1978). In 2008 Royal Caribbean International (RVI) has a fleet of 21 ships, the largest at 154,000 tons, with at least two on order.
Song of Norway was sold to Sun Cruises in 1996 and renamed Sundream; in 2004 she was laid up briefly and after a rocky few years should start sailing in 2008 as Clipper Pacific for the PeaceBoat Organization.
