This is one of many Dallas/Maxim DS18B20 temperature sensors that will be going into the chamber. At the time of this writing, for each of the three fermentation chambers I'm planning on having one on the intake side of the radiator/fan assembly, one on the output side, and one that hangs free that I can attach behind some insulation to the side of one of the carboys. In the ice chamber, I'll have one that's sealed and submerged into the ice water and another to measure the air temp. For the sake of capturing data, I'm going to have one last sensor outside of the cabinet to measure room temp.
The 1-Wire network operates on its own bus, wired up in my case with CAT-5 network cable. I am using an Embeded Data Systems HA7Net device to convert this 1-Wire bus to Ethernet. It has a built-in web server that I will write a service to poll the temperatures from and control the relay switch which toggles on/off the fans and pumps when needed.
