I was able to spread the walls of the "snorkel sled" enough to finagle the snorkel out. Use good judgement at this point. If it feels like it isn't going to spread enough for you to remove it without breaking one of the sled walls, go ahead and remove the sled and snorkel together. I didn't go that far, but it looks like it would involve removnig one side of the spring and the slider button on the top side of the unit.
