My name
is Walter Lavender. I was stationed at U.S.Naval hospital from 1962 to 1963. I went through Typhoon Karen and have a lot of memories of accomplishments while there. When Guam memorial hospital was severly damaged they moved their patients over to our hospital. I got a lot of experience starting IVs and caring for alot of geriatric patients.

I surely didnt enjoy the typhoon but I learned I could withstand being up for 36 straight hours and moving patients to keep them dry. We had alot of windows broken out at the hospital and there was extensive damage but we did our job and kept things going.

My husband was stationed at Anderson AFB in 1972. Our 18 mo. old son and I lived there for a year. We lived in a Quanset Hut (quanson-not sure of the spelling). I would love to go back for a visit. I'm sure it's a different place now but have good memeories and wish I could locate some of our friends. We had Korean friends there who worked for Hyundai Contrution. We rented from a Mrs. Flores.

As beautiful as always. One of the many beautiful areas on Guahan. Sedya (Sella Bay) is also just as nice, and for those who know there is a latte site down there. Hard to find, but really is there.
