I finally had a chance to watch Japan's national sport at the Kokugikan Arena in Tokyo. It was such an experience to see these big guys battle each other. Before this specific bout, some banners from sponsors are paraded around the ring. More banners can be seen if the wrestler is famous like the Yokozuna(highest ranked sumo wrestler).
On the upper part of this picture, huge framed portraits of former champions can be seen from the rafters around the upper level seating. The champions of the last 32 tournaments are displayed here.
