..."And I know He watches me."
This evening, I had planned to take my camera for a walk in the woods, but instead, decided to stay at home and take pictures in the yard. After shooting the moon, and a few trees that were beginning to display their finest Autumn colors, I was drawn to a very beautiful red bush on the edge of the property. While capturing shots of the red foliage, I heard something rustling the leaves high above me. It was this sweet little Sparrow, fluttering wings, while hanging upside-down. It's foot was caught in-between two slim twigs, and as hard as it tried, it couldn't free itself. It grew more frantic as I moved closer, but I whispered, "Don't be afraid, little one, I'm going to help you." After taking a quick shot, I laid my camera in the grass, since the rescue would require two hands. As I pulled the limbs down closer to me, I was able to wrap one hand around the Sparrow so it wouldn't flutter. I raised it up higher than its trap, and in seconds the rescue was complete. I held it gently in my hand, and stroked its head, then examined it's leg, to make sure it wasn't injured. When I opened my hand it flew up and away. I knew then, that that was the reason I'd stayed at home. Who knows how long that little Sparrow had been hanging in the bush. But at least now, it's free!
