On the 11th of Januari 1944 an American B -24 Bomber crashed at this location.
Killing all crew members.
This stone was erected on the 4th of may 1990.
In 1946 or 1947 the local forest ranger layed stones out for the fuselage and wings and planted beech trees by the stones.
The stone in the right of the photograph would have been the nose of the plane.

The memorial is near the town of Exloo in the province of Drenthe in the Netherlands.
