When guests come to stay we will often taken up to The Puhoi Pub - one of the last historical pubs left in the Southern hemisphere.
The interiors filled with the remnants of past and present memorabilia is enough to fill one with a sense of nostalgia.
The village, 50 kilometres north of Auckland, was originally settled in 1863 by immigrants from Bohemia, an area which is now the Czech Republic.
