We spent a few days at Mangawhai Heads. Its harbour is surrounded by stunning sand dunes on one side and spectacular wetlands, bush and pohutukawa trees on the other, and it has a thrilling surf beach too.
In the distance the large tall island is Little Barrier, while the long range of low land behind it is Great Barrier, NZ.
