Northern Oriole Family Series of 4 Images

What a thrill to discover this family of Northern (Baltimore) Orioles while hiking!
Their hanging basket shaped nest woven from grasses was very high up and shaded by branches.

The female parent is olive-brown in colour with a dull
yellow-orange breast and belly, and two dull white wing bars.

Both parents were feeding their young. Two from the brood ventured outside
of the nest to flex their wings and enjoy the breeze.

The young fledge 11 to 14 days after hatching.
