In order to see some of the countryside we had arranged a private driver to spend the day with us in Tuscany.
She took us to the little town of Greve where we saw a statue of Giovanni da Verrazzano.
Interesting, as the largest bridge in New York is named after this man.
It was a beautiful little town with a cluster of shops around the town square.
From there we visited a family owned vineyard and had a tour and a tasting.
Most enjoyable!
Our guide collected us and off we went to the medieval town of San Gimignano.
Very touristy but fun to visit.
A walled city with many towers and several squares where one could order a delicious meal.
Just as our time was up in this old city it started to rain.
Our driver met us at the entrance and delivered us safely back to our hotel in Florence.
Part of what made the day so special was our driver.
She was such a personable young woman who was extremely knowledgable in Italian history and able to tell stories that held your interest.
She was also a great listener who showed interest in who we were and where we were from.
All in all, a great day.
C'est une belle série. Vous avez choisi de très bons et intéressants sujets. Les compositions sont faites avec beaucoup de talent et cette région est très belle à découvrir à travers votre objectif.
