Della and The Explorers

Della had fun this weekend leading my granddaughter and my niece's two children through the woods up north.
It was a beautiful weekend and so nice and cool in the woods we probably walked a little further than we should have.
Poor Della was a bit stiff and sore afterwards.
She was so good with the little kids.
Very gentle and very tolerant with all the petting.
I was so proud of her.
It makes me sad to see how much she has slowed down.
She used to love getting a ball or frisbee and have the kids throw it for her.
Now she was just happy to take a walk in the woods and beg for food from the kids.
One of my sons was so surprised when he arrived late at night that she didn't even hear him come in. Like most older dogs her hearing has gotten really bad.
When he went up to her and touched her she woke up and was so happy to see him.
We treasure each day we have with her.

Beautifully done, it looks like it was taken in the 1930s-1940s rather than last weekend!

Nice treatment on this well captured image Jane. I guess aging does to all of us what Della is experiencing. Sad, but true.
