Could This Be The Yule Cat?

According to legends, the Christmas or Yule Cat is a monstrously huge black cat
that only appears at Christmas Eve,
when little children are sound asleep, dreaming of the glitter of the Christmas Tree and
what marvellous gifts lie under it.
Jólakötturinn, a huge and vicious cat
who is described as lurking about the snowy countryside during Christmas time and
eating people who have not received any new clothes to wear before Christmas Eve.
He is the house pet of Grýla and her sons.
You would think with such a frightening story about cats that they wouldn't be so popular!

That's an interesting legend, probably put out there to scare little kids.

Fascinating narrative. This cat seems innocent enough though.

Madame peruses while the black cat prowls...what a scare for Icelanders that old story must be...so much for a jolly Yuletime..

What an odd legend, can't imagine how it would get started, except you hear many false things from a cat hater

1/250s he was moving slowly this day..

Nice perspective and great timnig to get the cat in mid-stride.
Interesting story, I like "Der gestiefelte Kater", tales of an anthropomorphic cat.

Great action shot of this cat. Hopefully he's just looking for a handout, not a person. V.
