Here is the inside of the Winter Garden.
On 9/11 two of the trees perished.
Titanic javelins of steel from the North Tower pierced the skylight and embedded in the atrium floor.
The rest of the trees died from exposure to the cold.
New trees were planted when they rebuild it within a year of 9/11.
They have been replaced once since the reopening almost twenty years ago.
They grow about six inches a year so the ones that were put in after the 9/11 rebuild were cut down.
They weren't just thrown out, they were mulched and used in the gardens of local hospitals.
It is nice to see still so much respect and regard for anything to do with 9/11.
