Each In Their Own World

As we were waiting for the subway down to Vesey Street I spotted these two young people.
In a city of millions of people you can still be very alone.

A well titled and superb capture that illustrates being in one's own world takes many forms. We live in a world that for many, their cell phones are their closest daily companion. Beautifully composed and a very thoughtful capture. VVV

The mobile phone seems to be glued to people's hands these days. Good composition, Jane.V

Nice subway shot stopped here many time when living Manhattan.
Looks like the cell phone makes the train wait seem shorter.
Nice exposure in the low light atmosphere.

I noticed people in the stations are often divided by the poles. Very compelling. V

How did we ever pass the time before cell phones?

C’est une excellente image avec le contraste des piliers et l’arrière-plan aux carrelages lumineux.

VERY nice Jane

How true is that Jane. I used to make fun of people addicted to their phones, but now I too sometimes subconsciously pull it out to check on the latest. Habit-forming or just addictive???

Alone, and yet perhaps connected with friends and lovers. A photo with food for thought.

each effectively compartmentalized by pillars...at least they have the virtual world to offset their solitudes..

So reflective of today's world, each in his own bulb

Very well seen and photographed. I think NYC is one of the loneliest places in the world if you don't know anyone there. "V"

Indeed you can, and this illustrates that fact quite well. V.

NYC is that kind of city. It's not like that in other places. I feel nostalgic seeing the platform. "V
