You'll notice they have no tails but they do have very fluffy butts.
Some Australian Shepherds are born without tails others are docked when they are just a few days old.
They are a working dog and removing the tail saved them from injury while working close to cattle.
Of course Della and Tug don't work cattle but some traditions die hard.
In Europe they have stopped docking an Aussie's tail.
All that being said my guys came to me without their tails and do just fine without them.
They have the best wiggle butts around!
